Hello. I’m Maxine Shea, one of the founders of Hemp Collective, our family-run Australian business dedicated to sustainability and natural solutions. Based in Byron Shire, we take pride in our multifaceted professional hemp business, which now manufactures over 40 Hair, Body and Pet Care products stocked in over 200 stores around the country.
Hemp Collective originated from a personal quest for natural health solutions. Twelve years ago, our journey began with the birth of our son, who suffered severe eczema. We realised that some of the safe foods and products we thought safe were doing more harm than good.
Around the same time, my health began to decline with chronic headaches, depression, fatigue and hormonal problems. It was then that I was diagnosed with a rare non-cancerous brain tumour. Within three months, I was having brain surgery, but the tumour kept growing. So, we investigated other, less toxic options. More brain surgery seems to be the only solution offered.
In our research, the hemp/cannabis kept coming up time and time again. The statistics and clinical research studies were astonishing. We struggled to understand why the world had turned its back on such an incredible plant.
That was when we introduced Hemp into our everyday lives and decided to share this versatile plant with others. Consequently, Hemp Collective was born.
Our pet care range evolved from our Hair and Body care products. When customers started using our natural products on their pets, we decided to re-formulate and create our natural hemp pet care range.
